Exclusive! Minus One: New Chapter actor Ayush Mehra: Men need to know that being vulnerable is normal

Actor Ayush Mehra, who plays Varun in the web series Minus One: New Chapter, says that more than men are usually not allowed to be vulnerable or practice self-love. And his show, which also stars Aisha Ahmed, highlights this.

Talking about the biggest takeaway from the show, Ayush told OTTplay, "Time heals everything. As the show progress, we explore deeper human emotions. I understood that not everything in life can be explained in black and white, because there is a lot of grey. With reasoning and understanding between two people, a lot can be solved. That apart, you have to love yourself first in order to give love to somebody. A lot of people do not understand this concept; one can do a lot of things for the one you love, but if you do not love yourself and be happy with yourself, you cannot give happiness to another person."

He added, "In the age of social media, we are talking about self-love, but I think we need to practice it more. And our show talks about this. I also realised that men don't have to be 'men' all the time; it is okay to accept mistakes and keep ego aside. Men are allowed to be vulnerable. These are the things that I explored as an actor and a human being through the show."

More often than not, love can have multiple layers to it, especially modern love. Breaking free of expectations of a ‘traditional’ relationship, Minus One: New Chapter delves into the lives of Varun and Ria as they navigate their break up.
