The Kannada superstar has always been vocal about how important his fans are to him and the tattoo that he got is a token of appreciation for their love.
For a layperson, Kannada superstar Darshan maybe a celebrity, but as far as the Challenging Star is concerned, the people responsible for his incredible growth – his fans – are the real celebrities. This is also why he addresses his fans as his celebrities and is often quoted saying that his celebrities are everything to him because he is what he is today because of them.
“My celebrities are my everything; I will only do what they like,” he had said during the promotions of his last release Kranti, adding, “Stardom is a gift from my celebrities; my focus is to sustain it by entertaining them.” In the run-up to the release of Kranti, the actor’s fans had taken it upon themselves to promote the film by holding processions and other events, none of which were sponsored by the production house or at Darshan’s behest.
Darshan was so touched by how his celebrities took ownership of the film that he’d compared this outpouring of love to something you’d normally see when a star passes away, like in the case of Puneeth Rajkumar. He added that he felt blessed to have seen this kind of love while still alive. The comment, of course, did not go down well with fans of the late Power Star, but Darshan stood his ground and maintained that he meant no malice. It was a genuine appreciation of the love his fans have for him.
And now, in a sign of appreciation for all the love his celebrities have showered over him over the years, Darshan has got himself inked. The actor got ‘Nanna Celebrities’ along with a small heart tattoed on his chest, and posted a picture of his new adornment on social media.
