Mysskin's Pisasu 2, which stars Andrea Jeremiah in the lead, evoked the curiosity of film lovers right from the time of its announcement. The first look of the project was released last month, and its shooting was wrapped up a while ago. The filmmaker had taken to Twitter then to inform about the completion of shooting along with a picture of the crew members.
The horror thriller, produced by Muruganantham under the banner Rockfort Entertainment, is expected to hit the screens next year. The movie also stars Poorna, Santhosh Pratap and Rajkumar Pitchumani in crucial roles, apart from Vijay Sethupathi in a cameo.
The team has now announced that the first single of the film, Uravin Paatu, composed by Karthik Raja, will be released on October 2. The project was earlier in the news for a few reasons. The last time Pisasu 2 hit the headlines was when Mysskin said that Andrea will win a National Award for her acting in the movie. He has been providing regular updates on the film ever since the pre-production began last year. He had posted pictures with lyricist Kabilan and singer Sid Sriram earlier for penning a couple of songs and for singing a melody respectively for the project.
Pisaasu, which released in 2014 with Prayaga Martin headlining the project, had Arrol Corelli as its composer. Mysskin's previous outing, Psycho, had hit songs from Ilaiyaraaja, and there are huge expectations for Pisasu 2's music. The director, who was supposed to helm Thupparivalan 2, backed out after his fallout with Vishal, with whom he made the film's first part which had hit the screens in 2017. The filmmaker was in the news last year when he said he wrote 11 scripts in two months during the first lockdown.
