The 53rd International Film Festival of India (IFFI) got underway in Goa on Sunday. At the IFFI 2022 opening ceremony, several members of the film industry received special honours, including senior writer Vijayendra Prasad, veteran actor Paresh Rawal, and stars Ajay Devgn, Suneil Shetty, and Manoj Bajpayee.

Ajay said when receiving a prize at the movie festival that he loves creating movies. He loves every single part of movies, whether he's directing, producing, or acting. The actor appreciates the appreciation from everyone.

Aparshakti Khurana emceed the inaugural ceremony. When he inquired of Vijayendra Prasad about the source of his inspiration for his works, the legendary writer quipped, "Gandhiji." After a brief pause, he pulled out an Indian currency note and said, "I was talking about this Gandhiji." The audience members laughed aloud at his dramatic reaction.

Anurag Thakur, Minister of Information and Broadcasting, officially opened the 53rd nine-day festival. Before the ceremony, he shared that this year there are a lot of new things starting up and a lot of premieres. This time, for the 75 innovative brains, 1,000 entries were received. From ten disciplines, 75 innovative brains were selected. There were also participants from faraway places. 75 Creative Minds is for people who once shied away from visiting Mumbai; today, their needs are being met, and chances are being made available for everyone to take part in the major film industry.

This IFFI forum is for people from all around the country to come together and collaborate, not just for the Mumbai film business. Additionally, an OTT platform show's season premiere will take place.

This year's edition has articles about the Spanish director Carlos Saura and the winner of the Dadasaheb Phalke Award, Asha Parekh.
