Fans of legends Ilaiyaraaja and AR Rahman were in for a surprise when the latter posted a picture of them posing together for a photo in his recording studio in Dubai. The Academy Award-winning music director expressed happiness to welcome the maestro to his studio, and added that he is hopeful of the veteran composing a few tunes for his studio.
Rahman tweeted, "Such a pleasure welcoming the Maestro @ilaiyaraaja to our Firdaus Studio... Hope he composes something amazing for our @FirdausOrch to play in the future! (sic)."
Music buffs were eagerly waiting to know if Raja would oblige to Rahman's request. The former replied to the latter's tweet saying that he has accepted the request and that he will start composing soon, leaving their mutual fans elated to the core. Raja had joined Twitter only recently, and his fans were excited about the legend constantly tweeting about things related to music.
This bonhomie between the legends is an icing on the cake for their fans. It is known that Rahman used to play keyboard for Raja before the former made a splash across the country with his composition for Mani Ratnam's Roja.
Though fans of both the legends still keep arguing on who is more updated with regard to their know-how in music, they still continue to keep music lovers enthralled with their compositions. Raja has close to 25 projects in his kitty, among which Vishal's Thupparivalan 2 and Vijay Sethupathi's Maamanithan are much-awaited films.
AR Rahman, on the other hand, has around 20 films, that include projects in Tamil, Hindi, Malayalam and English. Mani Ratnam's Ponniyin Selvan, Vikram-starrer Cobra and Sivakarthikeyan's Ayalaan among others are a few of his most-expected upcoming movies in Tami.
