Suryakumar Yadav set things ablaze once again with his blockbuster innings, with the Proteas being at the receiving end this time around.

Leading from the front, SKY scored a stellar hundred in the third T20I against South Africa and belted as many as seven boundaries and eight huge sixes in his pursuit. And as a result, he has gone past a certain Mr. Virat Kohli to become the second-highest six-hitter in T20 internationals for Team India.

Having played 60 T20 games for India and stepped out to bat on 57 different occasions, or innings, Suryakumar Yadav has unbelievably hit 123 sixes thus far. By virtue of the third six he scored in the latest game, he would go past Virat Kohli's tally of 117 sixes, which the Indian talisman has hit over the course of 107 innings. Of course, SKY and Kohli approach the game in starkly contrasting manners but it is simply astounding to know that the former has 123 sixes to name in just 57 innings. That's 2.15 mighty hits per game!

Surya is only second to Rohit Sharma in this six-scoring competition, with the 'Hitman' topping the charts with 182 sixes from 140 innings. Both batsmen have incidentally also played a lot of cricket with one another as part of the same team in the IPL, so it would certainly be interesting to see how fast Suryakumar Yadav overtakes his Mumbai Indians skipper.

For Team India, though, the fact that all three - Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma and Suryakumar Yadav - are part of the setup at the same time will serve as a big confidence boost in the lead-up to the T20I World Cup in 2024. Having endured a rather heartbreaking loss only a few weeks ago in the finals of the CWC ODI World Cup against Australia, one would hope that the men in Blue end up on the winning side in the upcoming tournament, which is set to get underway in West Indies and the USA from 4 June to 30 June 2024. And for this to happen, it would help a great deal that all three batters are in great knick.
