IND vs BAN 2nd Test LIVE: R Ashwin and Shreyas Iyer make it 2-0 for India, win by 3 wickets

Ashwin punches the air in delight after he sees the ball go for a 4. Iyer is also elated and so are their teammates in the dressing room. Bangladesh, who were almost on the brink of winning will wonder how they let this slip. 

At one point, the target of 145 looked way too much as wickets kept falling. But Ashwin-Iyer partnership went on to bail the visitors out. 

Mehidy Hasan Miraz gets a fifer and India in too much danger. Set batter Axar Patel, has been Bowled! Axar looked to defend this, but the ball clips the pads and knocks down the leg-stump.

The ball skids along the deck and clips the pads in front of the wickets. India takes a review and it shows the ball is crashing into the sticks, confirms Hawkeye. India lose a review.

This session was owned by Bangladesh as they took four crucial wickets. India had owned most of Day 3, but the late hour and a half went in favour of the host. Shakib led from the front, removing KL Rahul and later Mehidy's triple strike got rid of Gill, Pujara and Kohli to wreck havoc to the Indian side.

Mehidy Hasan Miraz gets another to his name. Excellent catch at short leg and Bangladesh are pumped. Kohli was lunging and defending but Mehidy got one to land on that good length spot, and Kohli gets an inside edge on it. Sharp low take by Mominul at short leg.

Shubman Gill stumped and Mehidy strikes big once more. Just a similar dismissal like that of Pujara, except that Gill misses it altogether.

Surely not the start India were expecting as they have lost two wickets after going in to bat. Pujara walks down early, not quite to the pitch as Mehidy drags the length back and beats the outside edge comfortably.

Edged and taken and what a dream start for Bangladesh. KL Rahul was playing a forward defence, but the edge was induced due to the turn.

A couple of dropped chances by Virat Kohli at slip proved to be a blessing for the hosts. But Axar Patel did pick three wickets to help finish the innings soon.

Partnership between Nurul Hasan and Litton Das helped Bangladesh fightback and shift the momentum. However, once the former departed, it was the partnership between Litton and Taskin that stretched the lead. But Siraj made sure to get Litton Das out. Taskin did hit a few boundaries to take his side to the 150-run mark. 

Khaled Ahmed run-out by Axar and that was the end for Bangladesh. Khaled Ahmed had nudged the ball past Gill at short leg, but he does well to sprint back, acollect the ball and throw it to Axar at the bowler's end. 

Axar does the rest and his is quick to whip off the bails.

While Bangladesh retain the review, the decision is umpire's call as it was straighter delivery on middle and leg. Taijul Islam got beaten on his defence. The onfield decision stays as Bangladesh lose their ninth wicket.

The very important partnership has been broken and Siraj looks pumped as he puts his finger on his lips to celebrate the wicket.

Currently Litton Das is keeping the Bangladesh on a high, but Axar Patel and R Ashwin are trying to keep the pressure on. Litton has notched up his 50 and Bangladesh's lead is now over 100. They will be hoping for the tail to help Das a little while longer. 

Virat Kohli puts down another catch at first slip. Litton Das plays for the offspin and gets a thick outside edge and with that brings up his fifty.

Stumped!! Axar has broken the good partnership stand. The length draws the batter forward and Axar gets it to spin and Pant is quick to break the sticks. Third wicket for Axar

After scoring his half-century, Zakir Hasan could not stay for long as he was dismissed by Umesh Yadav. It was a poor shot by the batter, while Siraj takes a good catch over backward point.

Much needed wicket for India as Mushfiqur Rahim is dismissed by Axar Patel.

Axar on Day 3 has looked dangerous so far, and he strikes just before lunch. The batter, misses the inside edge by a whisker and the replays confirm this would have crashed into middle and leg.

Jaydev Unadkat sends back dangerman and skipper Shakib Al Hasan back in his first over of this innings. Shakib chips the ball straight to cover and Gill who is stationed there, takes a comfortable catch.

Siraj gets his man. At 135kph, full and wide of off around the fifth stump zone and it straightens a bit. Mominul tries to push at it but gets an outside edge.

Shakib takes another and Ashwin is sent back for 12. Struck on the front pad, it looked plumb in real time, but the only thing that would have saved him on the review was an inside edge. But three reds saw him leave the crease.

Rishabh Pant stays in the crease and tickles the ball down the leg-side and takes a couple of runs to bring up a brisk fifty. 

Not the ideal start but India have lost 4 wickets. Much-needed early breakthrough for Bangladesh after lunch. The ball angles into Virat Kohli and straightens just a fraction, enough to find the outside edge and Nurul Hasan does the rest.

Mominul takes a sharp catch at short leg and Pujara is standing there in disbelief. The soft signal is OUT and replayes show Mominul has enough fingers underneath the ball.

Shubman Gill gets down to sweep and fails to lay bat on ball and the impact is on the front pad, in front of the sticks.

Taijul Islam persuades the captain to review it and they take it. Good decision as the ball hits KL Rahul's front pad first although the bat wasn't too far away. Taijul Islam provides the breakthrough.

Day 1 ends early as the light conditions are not good enough.

The two openers KL Rahul and Shubman Gill have looked in good touch. 

The two will begin Day 2 proceedings with KL Rahul (3 off 30) and Shubman Gill (14 off 20).

KL Rahul was adjudged LBW and after having a chat with Gill, he decided to challenge the onfield decision. While there is no bat involved, the ball is sliding down the leg-side. The impact was in line, but he was outside the crease. 

HawkEye confirms this would have missed leg and the onfield decision has to overturned.

Bangladesh were reduced to a total of 227 with nearly 60 minutes remaining in the day.

Barring Mominul Haque's 84 runs, no other batter has managed to cross the 30-run mark. The Indian bowlers have put on a strong show as Umesh Yadav and R Ashwin picked up four wickets each. Unadkat also proved why he was part of the squad and took two wickets. 

Mominul Haque, tleft-hander, on his comeback witnessed the Bangladesh batters getting dismissed from the other end.

Ashwin takes 2 wickets in an over and this time it was Khaled Ahmed who heaves it to deep mid-wicket. Unadkat in the deep takes a fine low catch running to his right.

Taskin Ahmed goes for a drive, but the leading edge flies straight to point. Siraj stationed there fumbles twice or thrice, but manages to take their catch.

50 on his comeback! He reached the milestone with a fierce cut over backward point. 

After the wicket post lunch, Mushfiqur Rahim had upped his scaled and was playing in boundries. The parternship needed to be broken and Jaydev Unadkat does that.

Shakib tried to take the aerial route but chips it straight to the fielder at mid-off.

While many questioned by last Test match hero Kuldeep Yadav was being replaced, but Jaydev Unadkat, proved why he needs to be in the squad as he is the one who managed to provide the breakthrough. 

Unadkat is playing his first Test in 12 years and picked his maiden Test wicket after troubling the Bangladesh batsmen with extra bounce. 

The second wicket was taken shortly after as Najmul Hossain Shanto fell to a straight ball from Ashwin.

After a good start by Bangladesh, post drinks break saw both openers depart in quick succession.

Shanto was given out lbw but, after having a word with his batting partner, they send it upstairs. Ball-tracking shows it's clipping the off-stump (umpire's call). A wicket for Ashwin

What a re-entry for Jaydev Unadkat into the Test team as he clinched his maiden Test wicket.

The 128kph, short of length ball, seams in with extra bounce and Zakir Hasan tried to play a horizontal-batted stroke. However, he is cramped for room and lobs the ball up towards fourth slip. Simple catch for Rahul.
