With the speed and quantity at which Rohit Shetty is currently operating in Bollywood, it seems like 2024 might just be his year. The filmmaker is working on the colossal movie Singham Again, boasting a cast that only massive filmmakers can assemble. Additionally, he ventures into the digital space with Indian Police Force, a web show from his cop universe that features a star-studded cast. The latter has generated a lot of buzz, and the trailer has recently been released.
About the Indian Police Force:
Backed by Amazon Prime Video, Indian Police Force is an extension of Rohit Shetty’s cop universe, created by Shetty himself. The show stars Sidharth Malhotra, Shilpa Shetty, Vivek Oberoi, Sharad Kelkar, Isha Talwar, Mukesh Rishi, Shweta Tiwari, Mrinal Kulkarni, and Nikitin Dheer. The story is set in Delhi and follows the police force as they combat a serious problem and make sacrifices in the process.
The Trailer:
Rohit Shetty's cop universe has seen various phases. While the concepts of police brutality and what is right have permeated popular consciousness, Shetty’s action goes beyond these discussions. His focus lies in the realm where a righteous cop beats goons to a pulp, taking the law into his hands—the content that has garnered a widespread fan base, uniting actors like Ajay Devgn, Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Tiger Shroff, and more in a single movie. As he makes his digital debut, one should not expect an overnight transformation.

From what the trailer reveals, the grammar of Shetty's world remains the same—cars are flying, cops are righteous, and the line between black and white is clearly defined, with the greys having little significance. However, there is an upgrade in the drama, emphasising the story over visual shock value. There is a visible effort to blend Shetty's formula with the streaming world's vibe.
Filled with all the elements of Rohit Shetty's unique selling proposition (USP) content, the show appears to be a thriller, aligning with the current streaming trends. Co-director Sushwanth Prakash, who served as Shetty’s assistant director on Dilwale, Singham, and Singham Returns, aims to cater to a wide audience. The action sequences are impressive, the background music sets the tone, the dialogues are impactful, and there seems to be something for everyone.
Indian Police Force Release Date:
Set to hit Amazon Prime Video, Indian Police Force has been one of the most anticipated shows for a while. It is scheduled to premiere on January 19, 2024. The show reportedly consists of seven episodes. There is no update on the release structure yet; whether it will be in volumes, one episode per week, or all released at once remains a mystery.
