The K-pop band BTS member Park Jimin became the first South Korean solo artist to reach No. 1 on the top US songs list, according to Billboard, which was released on Monday. With his most recent album FACE, the song Like Crazy, which was released in two versions, including English, reached the top spot.

However, soon after this was announced, BTS fans known as ARMY, found out that Billboard had made changes to the rules and the second week of chart data saw the song drop out of the Top 10.

Surely enough ARMY accused Billboard of filtering streams for Like Crazy and erasing more than 100k purchases on social media, mainly Twitter.

While the song continued to remain in the Top 5 of Billboard's Global Chart, ARMY was furious about it getting emitted from the US music charts for supposedly arbitrarily censoring the sales. On social media, a number of hashtags labelling Billboard as "corrupt" have gained traction. But, BB has not yet provided an official reaction.

Apparently, this is not the first time Billboard made changes to their rules, especially when an Asian act topped the charts. BTS, with not just their English songs 'Butter' and 'Dynamite' but also their Korean hit 'Yet To Come' made it to the Billboard, but ARMY believes, it is 'unfair treatment' towards BTS as they are not from the US.

About Park Jimin's album FACE:

On March 24, 2023, Jimin released his first solo album, FACE, with the lead single, "Like Crazy." His company Hybe Labels are now done with Jimin's promotional activities and has shifted focus on promoting Suga's (Min Yoongi) new album, D-Day, which is scheduled to drop on April 21, 2023.
