The teaser of long-delayed project, Jail, directed by Vasanthabalan, is finally here. As announced earlier, Dhanush unveiled the one-and-a-half minutes teaser which showcases the lives of people living in the resettlement colony at Kannagi Nagar near Thoraipakkam. The struggles of people there often hits the headlines, and the film is expected to bring more attention to the problems of the have-nots residing there.

GV Prakash essays the role of a small-time hoodlum while Abarnathi, who plays the female lead, will be seen as an aggressive girl who is also the former's love interest. Jail touches upon the nitty-gritty of disaster resettlement in India, too; a topic which hasn't been dealt in a detailed way before in Tamil cinema.

Radhika Sarathkumar, Pasanga Pandi, Nadan Ram and Ravi Mariya among others have also played important roles in the project which is expected to showcase the lives in jail in a realistic manner. An excited Vasanthabalan took to social media to express happiness on the occasion of the much-awaited teaser release and said that like his earlier outing Angadi Theru, Jail will also touch upon human lives which are invisible among us.

Last year, he took to his Facebook account to pen a heartfelt note on the movie lying in the cans for a long time for no mistake of his. Sharing the teaser link, GV Prakash tweeted, "A lot of of hardwork went through making this film..here is #JailTeaser from my fav dir @Vasantabalan1 sir..(sic)."

GVP himself has composed music for the movie which has cinematography by Ganesh Chandhrra. Raymond Derrick Crasta has edited the film which has art direction by Suresh Kallery. The National Award-winning stunt choreographer duo Anbariv has helmed action scenes in the movie.
