It is official that fans can expect an update on Jana Nayagan on Vijay’s birthday, which will come right on time as the clock strikes midnight. Only on Friday, the makers of Jana Nayagan which is touted to be Vijay’s final film, announced that the ‘First Roar’ from the film will be out. This has set many fans emotional as it would be the last time they will be getting a birthday update, because Vijay has already announced his retirement from films to concentrate on politics.

Jana Nayagan is an upcoming Tamil film starring actor Vijay in the lead role. The film is written and directed by filmmaker H Vinoth, and will mark the actor’s farewell film. It was only in last year Vijay had announced his political party and his idea to retire from acting to concentrate on full-time politics.

This has made scores of his fans dejected given Vijay is one of the stars from south who enjoys a massive fanbase. With Jana Nayagan being his farewell film, the makers are gearing up for an update on June 22, which is Vijay’s birthday. The update called the ‘First Roar’ will be out at midnight. Fans are having high expectations from the last glimpse that they will be getting, while also getting emotional for not being able to see their favourite star onscreen once again.

Jana Nayagan also stars Pooja Hegde, Bobby Deol, Mamitha Baiju, Gautham Vasudev Menon, Priyamani, and others, the film is backed by KVN Productions and has music by Anirudh Ravichander. Prime Video has bagged the post-theatrical streaming rights of the film. It will hit theatres on January 9, 2026.

Not much about the plot of the film have been revealed, but reports strongly suggest that it is a remake of Telugu film Bhagavanth Kesari. The makers have not denied or confirmed the speculations.
