Jana Nayagan update: ‘First Roar’ from Vijay-H Vinoth film to be out very soon

With actor Vijay’s birthday nearing, fans are highly anticipating updates from the makers of his next film, Jana Nayagan. All eyes are on the film, which is touted to be Vijay’s final film before the actor takes up full-time politics. Jana Nayagan is directed by H Vinoth. On Friday, the makers announced that the 'first roar' of Jana Nayagan will be out at midnight on June 22 for the actor’s birthday.

Jana Nayagan update:

Directed by H Vinoth, who had consecutively directed Ajith in three films, will be working with Vijay for the first time in Jana Nayagan. Produced by KVN Productions, not much about the film’s plot has been out. However, the film, which was scheduled for an October release, has been postponed to next year. It will now be out on January 9, 2026, for Pongal.

With fans mounting pressure on the production house, KVN Productions, bankrolling the film has finally given an update. The ‘first roar’ of Jana Nayagan will be out. It is expected that the update will be a glimpse into the film. The poster features Vijay's silhouette as he stands tall amid a crowd of people.

With music by Anirudh Ravichander and cinematography by Sathyan Sooryan, the film will have a star ensemble including Pooja Hegde, Bobby Deol, Mamitha Baiju, Gautham Vasudev Menon, Priyamani, and others.

There are strong speculations that Jana Nayagan is a remake of the Telugu film Bhagavanth Kesari starring Nandamuri Balakrishna. However, the makers have not yet officially confirmed.

Jana Nayagan marks the second time Vijay and Pooja Hegde are collaborating. They have earlier worked in Beast, directed by Nelson Dilipkumar. The film is available for streaming on SunNXT and OTTplay Premium. Beast revolves around a shopping mall hijack and how a former RAW agent, who is one of the hostages, takes it up on himself to save the people from terrorists.
