A new snippet from Ranveer Singh's upcoming social comedy Jayeshbhai Jordaar teases the 'chunauti' (challenge) that protagonist has to face.

We know by now that the movie will tackle the issue of sexism that runs deep in Indian society, where families are often biased towards the gender of even an unborn baby.

In the new clip, Ratna Pathak Shah's character rudely tells her granddaughter (played by Jia Vaidya) that she doesn't want too many women in the house. "Ghagra paltan nahi chahiye humein iss ghar mein," she says, which disturbs the young girl who then sprints away from the house.

Ranveer's character Jayeshbhai follows her to appease her and even pretends to sprain his knee in an attempt to get his daughter's attention. She directly asks him if he would stop giving her the attention she gets if a son is born. But Jayeshbhai's love for his daughter is so strong and evident, that it's clear he doesn't believe in discriminating between his children.

Here is the clip:

It's a heartwarming clip that only increases curiosity around this movie written and directed by newcomer Divyang Thakkar.

Jayeshbhai Jordaar also stars Shalini Pandey in her Hindi feature debut and Boman Irani as Jayeshbhai's father. Maneesh Sharma, who directed Ranveer's first movie Baand Baaja Baraat, is the producer.

This comedy is in Yash Raj's slate of upcoming movies including Shah Rukh Khan-led Pathaan and Akshay Kumar's period drama Prithviraj.

Jayeshbhai Jordaar releases on May 13.
