Actors talking about their transformations and the crazy things they do while promoting the movies for which they underwent these changes are always fodder for the internet. There are insane stories of some starving, some eating double their appetites, and some even going into isolation to get into the headspace of the characters they are about to play on screen. The Iron Claw, which is about to find a new streaming home in India, is one such movie where there is not just one story but multiple accounts of actors going through rigorous routines to achieve not just the shape but the authenticity needed to play real-life individuals. While Zac Efron's transformation made enough buzz, the world didn't notice that even Jeremy Allen White went through one.

Jeremy Allen White's The Iron Claw Transformation

The Iron Claw, which was released last year, was one of the most celebrated movies for bringing a real-life story that is not just inspirational but made for the screen. While Zac Efron was in the lead in the film that told the story of the Von Erich family, there were also Jeremy Allen White, Harris Dickinson, and Maxwell Jacob Friedman playing the rest of the Von Erich brothers. The Bear star, who was appreciated for the movie, once spoke about his crazy routine to achieve the physique that he sports in the movie. He spoke about how he had to put on 40 pounds, and below is everything you need to know about this throwback.

Jeremy Allen White plays Kerry Von Erich, the brother who was called the Modern-Day Warrior and who became a massive name worldwide before he died by suicide. For his character, Jeremy had to put on 40 pounds to reach the physicality of Kerry in the film. Talking to Esquire, the actor recalled how he was eating all the time and never really stopping. “In the morning, I would have waffles and almond butter. In the middle of the day, I was eating turkey patties and avocado all the time,” the Bear star explained. “It’s really just gross.”

But then there was also training that was to be supported by all of that eating. The actor recalls how he stayed away from cardio. He recalled while talking to Entertainment Tonight that he was eating a “pretty tremendous amount and just eating as much as I could and just trying to lift weights, no cardio.” But while Jeremy Allen White was bulking up, there were also three more boys going through their respective journeys, and there was also Zac Efron among those three.

In the same interview, Jeremy Allen White also spoke about Zac Efron and his transformation, calling the Baywatch star a maniac. “He’s so focused and knowledgeable on training, diet, and all that. In terms of a physical transformation, I think he kind of blew us all out of the water,” he told Esquire.
