Jigarthanda Double X: Karthik Subbaraj comes up with first single update, leaves fans into a tizzy

Movie buffs were thrilled when Karthik Subbaraj announced a sequel to his 2014 film Jigarthanda a while ago. It is titled Jigarthanda Double X and features SJ Suryah and Raghava Lawrence in lead roles. Cinephiles are eager to know if the characters in the first part will appear in the second part.

The teaser of the movie was unveiled a few weeks ago and the team had announced that the project will hit the screens as a Deepavali release in November. However, they are yet to come up with an exact release date.

Karthik Subbaraj comes up with the first single update

The filmmaker has now announced that the first single from the movie will be released at 12:12 pm on October 9. The song titled Maamadura has been composed by Santhosh Narayanan. The musician has been teaming up with Karthik for more than a decade. Rajinikanth-starrer Petta was the only film for which Santhosh did not join hands with Karthik.

Jigarthanda Double X is the director's theatrical release after more than four years and fans are expecting nothing less than a compelling entertainer.

A Pandyaa Western story

The makers have been describing the project as A Pandyaa Western story. Touted to be a sick action drama that revolves around the conflict between a filmmaker and a gangster, Jigarthanda Double X is Lawrence's third release this year after Rudhran and Chandramukhi 2.

On the other hand, SJ Suryah was seen in Varisu, Bommai and Mark Antony in 2023. The two have shared screen space for the first time and their fans can't wait to watch who has performed better.
