Jigarthanda Double X: SJ Suryah, Raghava Lawrence excited as makers announce teaser update

Cinephiles were overwhelmed when Karthik Subbaraj announced Jigarthanda Double X a while ago. Amid suspense pertaining to the movie's connection with Jigarthanda continued, the makers unveiled a video a few months ago, leaving film buffs intrigued.

SJ Suryah and Raghava Lawrence, who play lead roles in the film, are expected to appear in never-before-seen roles. Billed as an action-comedy, the team is yet to reveal the cast members of the project. It is slated for a theatrical release for the Diwali season, though the exact release date will be updated only later.

Teaser update revealed

Karthik Subbaraj has now announced that the makers will drop its teaser at 12.12 pm on September 11. He has also released a new poster along with the announcement. It features Suryah sitting on a crane and pointing a camera at Lawrence, while the latter, sitting on an elephant, points a gun at the former. 

Movie enthusiasts look forward to an exciting promo featuring the two talented actors along with an update on the release date. The movie is likely to have a clash with Sivakarthikeyan's Ayalaan at the box office.

Karthik's theatrical release after five projects

Jigarthanda Double X is the director's theatrical release after a short hiatus. His last movie to hit the screens was Rajinikanth's Petta. Later, two of his movies, Jagame Thandhiram and Mahaan, dropped on Netflix and Amazon Prime directly. This is in addition to two anthologies, Putham Pudhu Kaalai and Navarasa, he was part of.

Jigarthanda Double X, which is arriving in movie halls in November, is one of the much-expected Tamil films this year. Kaarthekeyan Santhanam and Kathiresan have produced the project which will be dropped on Netflix post its theatrical release.
