Chhaava has been ruling the box office numbers and getting praise from fans, critics, and celebrities. In a new interview, John Abraham said that he called Vicky Kaushal after the film's success.

Chhaava is an epic historical action movie starring Vicky Kaushal, Rashmika Mandanna, and Akshaye Khanna. It is based on Sambhaji Maharaj, the second ruler of the Maratha Empire. The film is almost close to earning Rs. 400 crore and it can achieve this milestone by the 15th day. Amid this, John Abraham said that he called Vicky after the film's success and praised it.
In a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter India, John Abraham opened up about Chhaava and expressed admiration for Vicky Kaushal’s work.
“The last film that’s doing well is Chhaava. I messaged Vicky. I was so happy for him," John said. He also mentioned reaching out to producer Dinesh Vijan and congratulated him on the film’s impact. The actor said he is thrilled with the film's success, as it has helped bring audiences back to theatres.
Further praising Kaushal and Vijan for their commitment to meaningful cinema, John added, "I’m grateful that there are people like Vicky and Dinesh in the industry who are trying to make a change and do good cinema. I wish, and I hope that I could be one of them."
Apart from John, celebrities like Katrina Kaif, Alia Bhatt, Karan Johar, Ayushmann Khurrana, Rajkummar Rao, Triptii Dimri, and others praised Chhaava.

Meanwhile, Chhaava will premiere on Netflix after its theatrical run ends. Usually, an OTT movie premieres in 45 to 60 days. The makers have yet to announce the official OTT release date.
On the professional front, John Abraham will be seen in The Diplomat. The movie will hit theaters on March 14.
