Team Vikram is leaving no stone unturned to create a noise about the Kamal Haasan-starrer, directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj. Kickstarting promotions on Tuesday, we see the Vikram movie posters stuck on a train, in Erode. "Movie promotions in the age of the internet are tricky. Though social media is the easiest and most affordable way to reach people, we wanted to make a buzz in every nook and corner of the city. Not everybody is on Instagram and Twitter. To promote a film in a bigger way, you need to step out of your comfort zone. The ultimate focus is to grab the viewers' attention in every possible manner," a source close to the actor exclusively told OTTplay.
Also, the source adds that the audience can look forward to the face-off scene between Kamal Haasan and Vijay Sethupathi. "The team is confident about the output, and the face-off scene, which will lead to the climax portions, was shot for 15 days." Though the story of Vikram revolves around a retired cop's assignment, we hear, Kamal Haasan will be seen in two different roles, one for which, a specific technique has been incorporated, to show him young.
The much-awaited action thriller, which also stars Vijay Sethupathi, Fahadh Faasil, Shivani Narayanan, Kalidas Jayaram, Narain, Antony Varghese and Arjun Das, in important roles, will release on June 3. On March 14, Kamal Haasan had shared a making video of Vikram, calling it the "biggest action entertainer". The glimpse into the film showed us the effort that has gone behind choreographing the stunt work.
The film is produced by Kamal Haasan's homebanner, Raaj Kamal Films International. Vikram has music by Anirudh Ravichander, editing by Philomin Raj, and cinematography by Girish Gangadharan. The shooting of the film was wrapped up on March 2. The makers of Vikram had sold the digital and satellite rights of the film, at a whopping price of Rs 112 crore. It looks like they got the entire budget recovered through it, making it a profitable venture already. Kamal Haasan had started filming for Vikram last July. The actor, whose Indian 2, is slated for the release, made an exit from the reality TV series, Bigg Boss Ultimate, as its host, and was replaced by Silambarasan.
