Roby Varghese Raj’s recent interview, in which he referred to an unnamed director mocking his film Kannur Squad, has gone viral on social media

There has been a lot of speculation on social media about the relationship between Kannur Squad director Roby Varghese Raj and director Jithin Laal in regards to a recent interview. During a round table interview with Rekha Menon, Roby was asked if there are people in the film industry who celebrate others' failures. To this end, the director said that there are some industry insiders who try to bring down other filmmakers’ work.
Roby also spoke about an unnamed director who had allegedly passed comments about his film Kannur Squad at a theatre that he was at. He said that the director in question is currently working on a high-budget project. After the interview aired, many X users began looking for clues about who the unnamed director is. Many believe that Roby was referring to Ajayante Randam Moshanam's (ARM) director, Jithin Laal. Now, the Kannur Squad director has come forward to clear the air and has also apologised to Jithin.

After the rumours about Jithin began circulating on social media, Roby took to his Instagram handle to clear the air. He shared a note that read, “There have been a lot of discussions happening in social media regarding one of the interviews, which I gave for Rekha Menon. I should have realised this happens in every form of work and I should have controlled my emotions in the interview. It's a sincere request to all my friends who are looking for names, please don't go behind this and leave it aside and focus on your work. I apologise to @jithin_laal for what damage has happened to you over the few hours...for something u have nothing to do about. Jithin is a very good friend of mine and one of the first guys who called me and congratulated me after the release of KANNUR SQUAD. Please don't hunt for names, it's a humble request. Jithin Laal responds to Roby's Instagram post
The ARM director, in turn, responded to Roby's Instagram post by thanking him for clearing the rumours because of which he and his movie team were being targeted by netizens. “Thank you brother..hope this clears all rumours spreading around about me n my team..”, the director wrote in his repost.
