Kevin Spacey to make his cinematic comeback with Peter Five Eight thriller, movie gets a release date

It's not long ago, Kevin Spacey finally got rid of all the allegations. This year in July, a UK jury cleared him of nine sexual-assault charges, concluding a month-long trial in which four men testified to being preyed on by the actor. In June 2023, Spacey faced charges of sexual assault, indecent assault, and nonconsensual sexual activity stemming from incidents that allegedly occurred between 2004 and 2013. He pleaded not guilty to all 12 charges against him. A week before the verdict, the number of charges was reduced to nine due to a legal technicality. Spacey has consistently denied all allegations, maintaining his innocence throughout the legal proceedings.

Kevin's return to the entertainment industry

The 64-year-old actor is now all set to make a grand comeback with the thriller-drama, Peter Five Eight. The movie has been backed by Invincible Entertainment. CEO Thomas Ashley told The Hollywood Reporter, “The film deserves to be seen. It’s a great film. And I don’t believe the filmmakers deserve to suffer. And he has been found not guilty and he deserves a second shot, just like we all would.”

Story of Peter Five Eight

Peter Five Eight tells a story about a seemingly glamorous real estate agent in a small mountain community who is revealed to be an unhinged alcoholic with a dark secret when a charismatic man in black shows up one day at the behest of his shadowy boss.

What did Thomas Ashley share?

Although Invincible’s CEO is absolutely aware of the fact that audiences will not accept Spacey’s return and will try to boycott the movie, he will not stop the movie release. “He was acquitted and he went to court and stood trial. And I believe he should get a reprieve. He’s already paid a heavy price for these accusations, a very heavy price. He lost roles. He lost stature. He was kryptonite for a while. He deserves a seat at the table again”, Ashley shared.

Thomas Ashley finally revealed that Kevin Spacey will be making his return with Peter Five Eight on March 22, 2024, with a limited theatrical release.
