Killers of the Flower Moon Twitter review – Netizens mesmerized by captivating performances, but slam its length

It’s been nearly 4 days since the epic crime drama Killers of the Flower Moon landed big on the OTT platform of Apple TV+ but the performances and the reviews on social media are still getting ranked on various parameters. Martin Scorsese's directorial was released in October 2023 theatrically in the US, and its digital release was highly anticipated since it marks the collaboration of Martin Scorsese with Oscar-winning actors Leonardo DiCaprio and Robert De Niro.

Based on David Grann’s nonfiction book of the same name, Killers of the Flower Moon chronicles the brutal murder sprees of the Osage members for ulterior motives. The mysterious killings call for investigations and showcase the conflicts and conspiracies between the notoriously wealthy people and the owners of the oil rig community.

The movie bagged several prestigious nominations at the Screen Guild Awards, Golden Globes, and several other titles, which made it fascinating for viewers as they eagerly waited for it to premiere on the OTT platform. Fans' wishes were granted on January 12 after it was released on the platform, which in turn led to a wave of reactions on social media as netizens gathered to voice their opinions.

Taking to X (formerly Twitter), the Twitteratis hailed the spectacular performances but mutually were disappointed at the long-run movie of approx 3.5 hours.

The movie centres around how the political boss takes over the tribal people’s fruitful land and snatches away their mineral rights. The stellar ensemble cast is led by Leonardo DiCaprio, Robert De Niro, and Lily Gladstone, who also won Best Actress in Drama at the coveted Golden Globes Awards. The supporting cast is followed by the talented actors Jesse Plemons, Tantoo Cardinal, John Lithgow, and Brendan Fraser.

Several netizens hail Lily Gladstone’s performance and acting craft.

Some users also denounced the evil deeds of white people and saw the film through a racial lens as they criticised the wrongdoings.
