Actor Dhanush, who has wowed us with versatile performances, will be starring in the upcoming Tamil-Telugu film Kuberaa. The intense, thrilling drama features a known cast and is soon to hit theatres. Here is everything you need to know about Kuberaa before you catch it on big screens.
Kuberaa is set to release on June 20 in theatres. The film will release in Telugu, Tamil, Hindi, Malayalam and Kannada languages worldwide. The film marks Dhanush’s first release this year as an actor.
The trailer of Kuberaa was initially scheduled to release on Saturday, but the makers had decided to postpone it to Sunday, to release along with the pre-release event. However, the teaser called ‘Trance of Kuberaa’ was released earlier, which shows Dhanush playing a beggar and how his life gets entwined with that of a millionaire portrayed by Nagarjuna.
Directed by filmmaker Sekhar Kammula, Kuberaa features Dhanush, Nagarjuna Akkineni, Rashmika Mandanna, Jim Sarbh, and others. Backed by Sree Venkateswara Cinemas LLP, and Amigos Creations Pvt Ltd Producers, the film has music scored by Devi Sri Prasad. The technical crew also includes production design by Thota Tharani and Niketh Bommi cranking the camera. Karthika Srinivas is the editor.
As per the reports doing the rounds, Kuberaa's plot seems to centre around Nagarjuna and Dhanush, who play a chartered accountant and beggar, respectively. While the former uses a smartly set-up ploy to steal the unaccounted wealth of the riches, he uses beggars as his pawns to create fake identities and reroute the funds to his personal account. However, Dhanush's role is no normal beggar who is one step ahead of the accountant and siphons the money.
The runtime of Kuberaa is lengthy. It is three hours and 2 minutes and has been provided with a U/A certificate by the censor board.
Prime Video has bagged the post-theatrical streaming rights of the film. Kuberaa will begin streaming after it completes the theatrical run.
