Love Lies Bleeding is a surreal new thriller that marks the sophomore direction of Rose Glass after Saint Maud. The film was co-written by Glass and Weronika Tofilska and was a co-production between the United Kingdom and the United States. Set in 1989, the film chronicles the relationship between a reserved and tough gym manager with a criminal family and an ambitious bodybuilder.

Love Lies will enjoy a theatrical release in India on March 22, 2024. The film premiered at the 2024 Sundance Film Festival in January 2024 before releasing in US theatres on March 8. As for the UK, the film will hit theatres on May 3, 2024. Love Lies Bleeding had released a trailer in December 2023 itself, which offered a thrilling glimpse of the bloody journey ahead.

Love Lies Bleeding follows two people, Lou and Jackie, as they navigate the realms of bodybuilding, family business, and relationships. Its the 1980s and gym manager Lou falls in love with a woman named Jackie in the gym who was passing through and wanted to workout before moving forward with her bodybuilding competition dream.
But when Jackie takes up a job, thanks to Lou’s brother-in-law J.J., at the deceptive and sleazy Lou Sr., Lou’s dad’s shooting range, her and Lou’s paths cross forever, and in unforgettable ways. From making love to going out to dispose of dead bodies together, they do it all. But when the two get tied up in legal and criminal knots, only pulling through together can ensure their chances of survival.
A surreal ode to dreams, passion, and shady family businesses, Love Lies Bleeding is a journey from love through lies while bleeding in order to emerge triumphantly on the other side.
