Manoj Bajpayee recalls good ol' Delhi days with Shah Rukh Khan, but also says, 'Do alag alag duniya ke log hum ho chuke hai'

Shah Rukh Khan and Manoj Bajpayee are the two versatile and outstanding actors of Hindi cinema. The duo began their acting careers in the same Delhi group but as their careers developed, they followed different routes in the film industry. While Manoj concentrated on parallel films and unusual characters, Shah Rukh rose to prominence in Indian cinema and became a romantic superstar.

Manoj Bajpayee often talks about how they followed their different ways of acting and were completely happy and successful on their own terms. In a recent conversation, The Family Man actor said that their worlds had diverged to the point where they hardly ever saw each other. In an interview with Jist, Manoj was asked if he still sees Shah Rukh Khan. To which the actor replied that they have evolved into people from different worlds. Thus, their paths do not cross. Their friendship wasn't like that even then. Both SRK and him have their own inner circle of friends.

He said, “Milna to nahi hota. Do alag alag duniya ke log hum ho chuke hai. To humare raastein nahi takrate. Uss samay bhi dosti aisi nahi thi, uska apna ek friend circle tha, mera apna ek friend circle tha. Ek hee group mein the hum log, jab ek hee group mein kaam karte ho to sabke saath jaan pehchaan hoti hai, sabke saath uthna baithna hota hai, sabke saath khana hota hai." (We don't meet anymore. We've become people from two different worlds. So, our paths don't cross. Even at that time, our friendship wasn't like that; he had his own friend circle, and I had mine. We were in the same group, and when you work in the same group, you get to know everyone, you sit and stand together, you eat together.)
