The 69th National Film Awards were held today in New Delhi. Big names like Karan Johar, Kriti Sanon, Waheeda Rehman, Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, and others marked their presence at the ceremony. Karan's production venture, Shershaah, bagged the Special Jury Award at the prestigious event. 

Though Shershaah's lead actor Sidharth Malhotra couldn't make it to the award ceremony, the actor penned an emotional note on X.

Sidharth Malhotra shares post after Shershaah wins big

Sidharth played the role of Captain Vikram Batra in the film, which premiered on Amazon Prime Video. The actor expressed gratitude as his movie Shershaah got a special honour at the National Film Awards. 

He took to his X account and wrote, "Special Jury Award at the 69th National Film Awards for Shershaah! The award received today is a tribute to hardwork, determination, and patriotism. Its significance will remain etched in my heart forever. Deep gratitude and respect to my entire team, and above all, to you for your constant support (sic)."

Karan Johar on Shershaah's National Award win

The producer of Shershaah shared a glimpse from the 69th National Film Awards. It featured him receiving the prestigious award on behalf of team Shershaah.

A part of his heartfelt note shared on Instagram, read, "Thank you sidmalhotra, who brought this special story to us at dharmamovies. And continued to play the role of Captain Vikram Batra like no one could! You are the heart of the film… kiaraaliaadvani, truly one of the most special artists we have in the industry today…you brought in the pain, the pathos and the pride with Dimple’s character (sic)."

On the work front for Sidharth

Meanwhile, on the work front, Sidharth was last seen in Mission Majnu with Rashmika Mandanna. The film was released on Netflix earlier this year.
