It seems like work on the Fantastic Four Reboot is in full swing. Since the Hollywood strikes concluded, we have been getting constant updates on the much anticipated Marvel Cinematic Universe flicks, with the studio allegedly locking in the main four characters: Galactus, Doctor Doom, and more. The latest reports now suggest that there is yet another undisclosed villain in the movie and the studio wants Anya Taylor-Joy to play her.
Yes, you read that right. Marvel Studios is now bringing their first family back on the screen with their Fantastic Four Reboot. The studio has hired Matt Shakman to shape the reboot and has been working on it since long before the strikes. Reports recently said that the studio wants Pedro Pascal to play Reed Richards, Vanessa Kirby has been locked to play Sue Storm, Mads Mikkelsen has been approached to play Doctor Doom, and Javier Bardem to play Galactus.
As per the latest update from ComicBook, Fantastic Four Reboot features one more villain and the details about her are neatly kept under wraps. However, we have already heard that the studio is planning to include a female Silver Surfer in the movie and this could possibly be that. For the same reason, they are now eyeing The Queen’s Gambit star Anya Taylor-Joy.
Anya Taylor-Joy became a household name with The Queen’s Gambit, which streams on Netflix. The actor was appreciated and hailed for her performance. Most recently, she was seen in The Menu, which was also critically acclaimed and loved by the audience that saw it.
As for the Fantastic Four Reboot, the studio is planning to go on floors at the beginning of Spring 2024. Matt Shakman has spoken at length about his excitement and approach towards this much-anticipated reboot. As for now, it is slated to hit the big screens on May 2, 2025.
