Yuva, the launchpad of Yuva Rajkumar, released on March 29 to mixed reviews. Fans loved his swag, dance and action, but felt he was ill-equipped for the more intense, emotional scenes. Critics were also not taken in much by the Santhosh Ananddram directorial, although, by making Yuva try everything except comedy, the filmmaker showed that the actor has potential and the scope to grow and get better.
Prior to the film’s release, the first single that the team dropped was a song called Obbane Shiva Obbane Yuva. While the track was not a runaway hit, it had fleeting glimpses of Yuva attempting some hook steps made famous by his late uncle, Power Star Puneeth Rajkumar, which everyone loved, and now, the full video of the song is available to stream. A little while ago, the video of Obbane Shiva Obbane Yuva became available online and fans can’t get enough of the actor’s swag and dance skills.
With the first post-release video song here, the buzz is that Yuva’s OTT outing may not be far off. The film’s post-theatrical streaming and satellite rights had been picked up by Amazon Prime Video and Star Suvarna, respectively. If Prime Video has a 30-day deal with the makers, the film could be just over a week away from dropping on the streamer.
The cast of Yuva also included Gopalkrishna Deshpande, Achyuth Kumar, Sudharani, Hitha Chandrashekhar, Sapthami Gowda and Kishore, among others. The film had music by Ajaneesh Loknath. The film is split in two halves that have no bearing on each other – the first takes place at an engineering college campus in Mangaluru, where hostelite Yuva’s conflict with some local students paves the way for at least 4 action blocks.
In the second half, the narrative switches to a family crisis forcing Yuva to take up a job as a food delivery agent, while it also emerges that he was a promising national-level wrestler, who was falsely accused of match-fixing and, thereby, suspended from the sport for a while. His coach, played by Kishore, takes it upon himself to find a way to give Yuva the shot at glory he rightly deserves.
