Palan: Kaushik Ganguly and team launch a song to promote the film

This is Mrinal Sen’s birth centenary and a number of Bengali directors have paid tribute to the master filmmaker through their films. Kaushik Ganguly’s Palan is one of those films. Taking a cue from Mrinal Sen’s Kharij, he has developed the story with Anjan Dutt and Mamata Shankar – two leads of Sen’s film. Besides, Jisshu U Sengupta, Paoli Dam, Shrila Majumder, Debapratimm Dasgupta and others are part of the film.

Palan will be released on September 22. Before that the cast and crew members of the film gathered to unveil a promotional song, Ami Amar O. Penned by Kaushik and composed by Ujaan Ganguly, the song is recorded by Indranil Sen. The music video, directed by Kaushik Ganguly, weaves a narrative that resonates with the lyrics.

Singer-turned-politician Indranil Sen doesn’t get much time to offer music as much as he used to. He said, “It has been a pleasure to lend my voice to Ami Aar O. The song carries a beautiful message, and I am honored to be a part of this musical journey with Team Palan. It shows that if I get an offer of a good song, I would make time to record it.”
