In disappointing news, fans of Telugu superstar Prabhas have to wait longer to see the trailer of his upcoming movie Salaar. Even though an official word on the same is awaited, the sources in the know have confirmed that the trailer release won't happen as planned earlier.
Salaar trailer missed the deadline!
Hombale Films, which is bankrolling Salaar, had earlier announced that the trailer would be released by the end of August. "Mark your calendars for the end of August, as we prepare to unleash the highly-anticipated trailer that will showcase the grandeur of Indian cinema," the production house had said in a 'thank you' note to the fans after Salaar teaser clocked more than 100 million views on YouTube on a record time.
Even as the month drew closer to the end, no updates about the project were released from the producers, leaving the fans feeling anxious. And the latest buzz about the delay in the trailer will only add to the disappointment of fans. Especially, with just less than a month to the movie's release, the filmmakers were yet to kick start the promotions.
The actual reason behind the delay of the Salaar trailer was not yet clear. However, the buzz is that filmmakers have now plans to release the promo video in early September, just a few weeks ahead of the movie's theatrical release.
Salaar teaser was a big hit!
Salaar teaser was released at a time when Prabhas' mythological epic Adipurush was facing a serious public backlash. Written and directed by Om Raut, Adipurush was slammed as a 'blot' when it comes to adapting the epic Ramayana for the screen. And the success of the Salaar teaser helped to take some heat off Prabhas.
The teaser was cut in a typical Prashanth Neel style. The dimly lit backgrounds and coal-dust-covered landscapes promised a memorable cinematic experience for the audiences. However, not everyone was happy about the teaser.
Salaar release plans
Besides Prabhas, Salaar stars Prithviraj Sukumaran, Shruti Haasan, Jagapathi Babu, Tinnu Anand, Easwari Rao, Sriya Reddy, and Ramachandra Raju. The movie is made by the makers of the KGF series, director Prashanth Neel and Hombale Films. It is expected to arrive in cinemas on September 28.
