The general election 2024 is around the corner and the TMC candidate for the Ghatal constituency Dev has no time to respite. He is campaigning full-on and spending time with people. Dev does not want to leave any imperfection in the campaign. 

Dev’s film Pradhan has completed one hundred days in the cinema halls. The film has been winning people’s hearts for 15 weeks. This achievement was celebrated in Dakshin Kolkata Sansad Club, where members of the production houses Bengal Talkies and Dev Entertainment Ventures, Atanu Roychoudhury, Pranab Kumar Guha, and Dev were present. The day was celebrated by cutting a cake. 

Dev said that he wants all the films – his or otherwise – to be successful. He has several projects in his hand, including Srijit Mukherji’s Tekka and Khadaan. He believes in quick learning from one’s own mistakes in this fast industry. Dev’s rise happened from mainstream commercial movies. Hence he tries to help the newcomers. He was by the new producer Ankush’s side during the promotion of the film Mirza. Dev’s YouTube channel released Mirza’s trailer also. 

Dev helped Yash and Nusrat Jahan’s production and their film Sentimentaaal. He also supported the film Pariah, starring Bikram Chatterjee. About Mirza, Dev told Anandabazar Online, “Many people backstabbed me after I came to production. Hence, I feel the pang of the newcomers. I don’t want my juniors to go through the same experience.” 

Dev took time off from his busy election schedule and came to the success party. Soham Chakraborty, Mamata Shankar, Soumitrisha Kundu, and Pradhan’s director Abhijit Sen were also with him.

Pradhan was released on December 23, 2023. The story revolves around an honest cop Deepak Pradhan, played by Dev.
