Premalu, the Girish AD directorial which features young actors Naslen and Mamitha Baiju in the lead roles, has witnessed a massive growth at the box office on its second day of release.

Premalu, the third directorial venture of Girish AD, who is best known for his much-loved outings Thanneer Mathan Dinanga and Super Sharanya, hit the big screens on February 9, 2024. Naslen K Gafoor and Mamitha Baiju, the young actors appeared in the lead roles in the film. Despite revolving around a highly familiar premise, Premalu won the hearts of audiences with its humour, and performances.
The romantic comedy had a decent start at the box office, by making a total opening collection of around Rs. 1 crore. However, when it completed the first weekend (3 days) at the box office, Premalu has already succeeded in crossing the Rs. 5 crore mark.
Premalu collects over Rs. 5.5 crore from the box office
According to the latest updates from box office trackers, Premalu has made an excellent first weekend opening at the worldwide box office, by collecting over Rs. 5.5 crore in just three days. On its third day at the box office, Naslen and Mamitha Baiju’s film has made a total collection of over Rs. 2.5 crore, which is more than double of its first day collections. It is undoubtedly a major acheivement for the Girish AD directorial, which was reportedly made with a budget of around Rs. 8 crore.
If things proceed at the same rate, it is also safe to assume that the Naslen-Mamitha Baiju starrer will easily cross the Rs. 10 crore mark at the worldwide box office, within it completes the second weekend of its release. Also, Premalu has the potential to make it big at the box office further, considering the excellent reviews and word-of-mouth publicity. The increasing audience rush suggests that the romantic comedy has all the potential to cross the Rs. 30 crore mark worldwide, with its lifetime collections.

Naslen played the role of Sachin, a happy-go-lucky youngster in the movie, while Mamitha Baiju appeared in the role of his lady love, Reenu. Sangeeth Prathap, Shyam Mohan, Akhila Bhargavan, Meenakshi Raveendran, Althaf Salim, Mathew Thomas, and others appeared in the supporting roles. Premalu is jointly bankrolled by Fahadh Faasil, Dileesh Pothan, and Syam Pushkaran, under the banners Fahadh Faasil and Friends and Bhavana Studios.
