Raj B Shetty to reveal Toby first look by the end of June

It was only a few days ago that actor-filmmaker Raj B Shetty announced his new film Toby to the world. Written and produced by Raj with him in the lead role as well, the film marks the directorial debut of his associate Basil Alchakkal and sees him reunite with Ondu Motteya Kathe and Garuda Gamana Vrishabha Vahana music man Midhun Mukundan. The title announcement also saw the team reveal that the film will be in theatres on August 25 and now, with only two months to go, Raj says that the first look of the Toby should be out next week.

Taking to social media to thank people for the interest shown in the title and release date announcement, Raj said that the first look of the film will be out by the end of the month, and considering that we are jut shy of the last week, it could drop anytime soon. Raj did not specify a date, as to when one can expect the first look.

Toby, which the team shot after Raj finished a quick directorial Swathi Mutthina Male Haniye for actress Ramya’s production house, also stars Chaithra J Achar, Samyukta Hornad and Gopalkrishna Deshpande, among others. The film is said to be a revenge drama, with an intense love story and violence too. Since he began talking about Toby, Raj has described this project as the beast that got the best out of the team.

Meanwhile, it was recently also reported that since Toby is Raj’s first big-budget project, chances are that he will release it dubbed versions in Tamil, Telugu, Hindi and Malayalam as well, besides the Kannada original, of course. The universal nature of the subject of Toby is apparently why Raj will bring the film to a larger audience. He has, in the past, been vocal about not wanting to dub his films in other languages, as they were rooted stories, but Toby, it would seem, is different.
