Rajkumar Hirani confirms he is ‘in touch’ with Ranbir Kapoor for some ideas – Here’s everything we know

While "Dunki" has not been able to make as much of an impact as Shah Rukh Khan's two other releases this year (Pathaan and Jawan), the movie is still finding an audience. Director Rajkumar Hirani has been talking a lot about his film in several interviews and has been making several revelations. He recently said that he is in touch with his 'Sanju' star Ranbir Kapoor for a new film.

Yes, you read that right. Rajkumar Hirani is planning to reunite with Ranbir Kapoor, and they are even discussing some ideas. The two last worked together on the 2018 film 'Sanju', which was based on Sanjay Dutt’s life. The movie also starred Vicky Kaushal, Anushka Sharma and Dia Mirza and did well at the box office. Rajkumar Hirani and Ranbir Kapoor coming together again will mean that expectations will be at an all-time high.

As per India Today, Rajkumar Hirani, while talking about discussing ideas with Ranbir Kapoor, said, “Ranbir is an absolute sweetheart. We had a great time making ‘Sanju’. I would definitely love to do another film with him. There are a few scripts with me, and we are in touch. So let’s see where this goes. Sometimes, it happens that you start writing a particular script, and it doesn’t go anywhere, and then you start another one, and it becomes something. So yes, I love Ranbir.”

Rajkumar Hirani On Shah Rukh Khan Choosing Dunki
Meanwhile, in a now-deleted post on X, Rajkumar Hirani wrote that Shah Rukh Khan is a brave actor for choosing 'Dunki'. He even clarified that a box office haul was never the intent of the film.

He wrote, "Yes, absolutely, SRK (Shah Rukh Khan) is a very brave actor. He was well aware that mass films are working well at the box office in recent years, but still, he chose to do 'Dunki.' And it's not about the box office collections every time; we wanted to provide a great social message, and luckily, we succeeded in this mission, and also the film is doing very well at the BO (box office). People are really liking and appreciating the film 'Dunki,' I am very happy about it."
