Ram Charan, who recently wrapped a key schedule for director Shankar's Telugu film #RC15 in Andhra Pradesh, has now left for the US to attend the prestigious 80th Golden Globes Awards ceremony to be held on January 11. He was spotted at the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport, Hyderabad earlier today along with his wife Upasana Konidela as they were off to Los Angeles to grace the awards event together. His RRR co-star Jr NTR, along with his family, is set to join him shortly.

A few days ago, SS Rajamouli, along with his family - wife Rama Rajamouli, son SS Karthikeya, daughter-in-law, landed in the US to attend a series of award ceremonies in the US. Earlier today, the RRR filmmaker won the Best Director Award for 2022, bestowed by the renowned journalist forum New York Film Critics Circle. He expressed his happiness that the West reacted to RRR the same way as Indians and recounted his experience of watching Terminator 2 in theatres as well.

Jr NTR, Ram Charan and SS Rajamouli will attend the Golden Globe Awards event with their families in the coming week. The historical drama has been nominated in two categories in Golden Globes - Best Picture - Non-English Language and Best Song - Motion Picture (for Naatu Naatu - lyricised by Chandrabose, composed by M.M. Keeravaani). Naatu Naatu has also been shortlisted for the Oscars under the Best Original Song category.

RRR is a fictional tale of friendship revolving around two real-life Telugu warriors Komaram Bheem and Alluri Sitarama Raju set in the early 1920s. The film, now streaming on ZEE5, Disney+ Hotstar and Netflix, also stars Alia Bhatt, Samuthirakani, Ajay Devgn, Shriya Saran, Olivia Morris and others in key roles. The historical drama hit screens on March 25, 2022 and grossed over Rs 1200 crore at the box office.
