Ranbir Kapoor-Alia Bhatt wedding: All-you-need-to-know about the Brahmastra couple's nuptials

The long-awaited nuptials of Bollywood celebrity couple Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt are underway. The development has driven the media and the desi side of Twitter into a frenzy, with everyone awaiting the minutest of the minute details from the much-talked-about wedding.

What you need to know about the couple is that they are some of the biggest names in the Hindi film industry and have given us a lot of memorable hits. The two will next be seen together in Brahmastra, a mythological drama, directed by Ayan Mukerji who is best known for the coming-of-age movie Wake Up Sid! And the rom-com Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani. Both movies also star Ranbir in the lead.

Anyway, back to the wedding. There's a lot to catch up with. Read on for more:

• The pre-wedding ceremony, a Ganesh puja, kickstarted the nuptials on April 13. This was a close family affair only that took place at Ranbir's Bandra residence. A mehendi ceremony also took place yesterday. Karisma Kapoor took to Instagram and shared a glimpse of the henna art on her feet.
• Choreographer Rajendra Singh aka Masterji told Hindustan Times that Neetu Kapoor, Kareena Kapoor, Karisma Kapoor, and Reema Jain gave a surprise dance performance at the sangeet.

• Guests include a lot of their celebrity friends and industry bigwigs at today's event, which is said to be pastel themed. Times of India suggests that the venues are RK Studios in Chembur, followed by the RK house. 
• India Today writes that people who will definitely make it to the April 14 wedding are: Karan Johar, Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Zoya Akhtar, designer Masaba Gupta, Varun Dhawan and his brother Rohit Dhawan, Ayan Mukerji, Arjun Kapoor, Manish Malhotra, Akansha Ranjan, and Anushka Ranjan. Shah Rukh Khan should also be in attendance.
• Times of India writes that outfits will come from Sabyasachi, who is quite the popular choice among actor brides. Alia will also reportedly wear a veil designed by Manish Malhotra.

• Following right in the footsteps of their counterparts like DeepVeer, Ranbir and Alia too will host two receptions on April 16 and 17, respectively. Boy, do they love to party. The guest list of these parties is also said to be along similar lines, with lots of glitz and glamour.
