All about Vidyarthi Vidyarthiniyare

Speaking at the film’s first song launch, Chandan said that Vidyarthi Vidyarthiniyare is 1 of 3 films that he did in quick succession and that he has now put the brakes on his acting career, so as to have at least a couple release in theatres and see what audiences think of him as an actor. “People have accepted me as a rapper and musician and I am intrigued to see what they make of me as an actor. As the title suggests, Vidyarthi Vidyarthiniyare is a campus flick, revolving around student life. It will, no doubt, appeal to students, but it is also for parents to show youngsters what college life should be like and that it is not all about enjoyment,” he says, adding that his character has 3 shades in the film.

The film, directed by Arun Amukta, was shot across locations in Bengaluru, Mysuru, Mangaluru and Chikkamagaluru, with the cast including actors like Bhavya, Sunil Puranik and Raghu Ramanakoppa, among others. Chandan’s first film, though, was actor Sujay Shastry’s directorial debut Elra Kaaleliyatte Kaala, is yet to find the right date to come to theatres. He’s also got a film called Suthradari that is ready for release.

Meanwhile, as composer, one of Chandan’s upcoming project is Choo Mantar, directed by Karvva fame Navneeth, which has Sharan in the lead. This is a horror comedy about exorcism, which had been announced as an April release, but was then postponed indefinitely. He has also done a song in Indrajit Lankesh’s launch vehicle for his son Samarjit Lankesh called Time Baruthe.
