Samuthirakani: I'm not surprised with Silva's direction; there is a filmmaker in every action choreographer

The leading action choreographer of Kollywood, Stunt Silva, who has composed fight sequences for more than 200 projects, is making his directorial debut with Chithirai Sevvaanam, which is releasing on Zee5 on December 3. At the press meet of the movie which was held earlier today, Samuthirakani, who plays the lead in it, says that travelling with Silva has been an emotional journey for him.     

He said that both of them knew each other from a long time since the time they were neighbours in the city. According to him, he agreed to be a part of the film because of its strong emotional content. 

Samuthirakani said, "Silva was so close to his father; I knew the emotional bonding he shared with his father. So, I was not surprised when he came up with a story which revolved around a father's love. In fact, I have always felt there is a filmmaker in every stunt director."

He added that he was busy for a few months because of which he couldn't allot dates for Silva after the story was narrated to him. However, he called up Silva before the latter reached his home and promised him that he is ready to allot as much as dates Silva requires for the project soon. 

Kani also thanked Zee5 for choosing content-oriented films. His last outing as both an actor and a director, Vinodhaya Sitham, also had a direct release on Zee5. All praise for Pooja Kannan, who is making her debut with the movie, Kani said that the young actress and him had developed a father-daughter relationship off screen as well.

He said, "There was a magic in our bonding from the beginning which has reflected in the film as well. There is an emotional scene in the movie in which both of us lived as father and daughter. She left me stunned with her performance in that scene."
