April 13 marked late actor Satish Kaushik's 67th birth anniversary. The actor succumbed to a heart attack on March 9.

The late actor's good friend Anupma Kher hosted some of the top names in Bollywood on Satish Kaushik's birth anniversary to celebrate the late actor.

Several Bollywood celebrities, such as Rani Mukerji, Anil Kapoor, Javed Akhtar, Shabana Azmi, Neena Gupta, Chunky Panday, Anup Soni, Juhi Babbar, Sonali Bendre, Subhash Ghai, Mukta Ghai, Shankar Mahadevan, and Johnny Lever.

Also present were Satish Kaushik's wife, Shashi Kaushik, and daughter, Vanshika.

A lot of Satish's friends spoke about him, including Javed Akhtar and Shabana Azmi. Shabana recalled an incident after the 1993 film Roop Ki Rani Choron Ka Raja, which Satish directed, flopped. She said that the late actor was so badly affected by the flop that he wanted to commit suicide.

She said, "After the film failed, he was a dukhi aatma, and he felt like he should die. He was on the first floor, trying to find ways to commit suicide. When he looked down from there, he saw potatoes and brinjals being fried. So, he said, 'Yaar main aloo-baigan ke beech mein agar kud ke marr jaunga toh yeh kharab death hogi' (If I jump and die in between potatoes and brinjals, then it will be a very bad death)."

Revealing the reason behind the gathering, Anupam Kher told ANI, "Rather than mourning about someone's death, we should celebrate their life. Satish and I have been friends for almost 48 years, and we will continue to be. I am thankful for the people coming and talking fondly about him so that we can remember him."
