Shark Tank India is one of the most-loved business reality shows in India. Recently, Season 3 of the show aired from January 22, 2024, to March 31, 2024. Six investors (also known as Sharks) from the previous season were a part of the new season, along with six new investors who joined the Sharks panel this season. Amit Jain, co-founder and CEO of CarDekho Group, was one of the popular Sharks on the show. Recently, he disclosed some secrets about the show that are quite interesting.
In a recent interview on Bhanu Pathak's YouTube channel, Amit Jain was asked about how the promised investment from a shark on the show is delivered to investors. Jain, surprised by the question, laughed and admitted that the cheques presented to pitchers on the show were fake. “Woh cheque toh nakli hote hai bhai,” Jain told Pathak.
“Woh symbolic cheque hote hai. It is not linked to my account. It has the format made by Shark Tank. It is personalized, the company name is there, my signature, my amount but not my bank account. The cheque signifies that a deal has happened. Then the due diligence happens, papers are called, whatever you said on the show will be verified,” he added.
Jain further admitted that investor Namita Thapar is like a ‘mother’ to all the Sharks and crew members on the show. “Namita (Thapar) gets her home-cooked food. She’s like the ‘mother’ in the group. So we munch on her food; there’s a small pantry. It’s a small area but there’s a lot of fun that keeps happening.”
Amit Jain, Namita Thapar, Aman Gupta, Vineeta Singh, Peyush Bansal, and Anupam Mittal were retained as Sharks from Season 2 of the show.
Deepinder Goyal, Azhar Iqubal, Ronnie Screwvala, Varun Dua, Ritesh Agarwal, and Radhika Gupta were the new Sharks seen in Season 3 of Shark Tank India.
You can watch the show anytime on Sony LIV. This app can also be accessed on OTTplay Premium.
