Telugu cinema is bracing up for the festival season like never before. Nearly four Telugu films are lined up for release during the Dussehra weekend. The biggest and the most promising of them all is RX 100 director Ajay Bhupathi's gangster saga Maha Samudram featuring Sharwanand, Siddharth, Anu Emmanuel, Jagapathi Babu, Rao Ramesh and Aditi Rao Hydari in key roles, slated to release on October 14. The impressive trailer apart, film is loaded with intense characters, comprises a star studded cast, Raj Thota's terrific cinematography besides Chaitan Bharadwaj's foot-tapping music.
Actor Sharwanand completed shooting for the film earlier today. "Dubbing done for #MahaSamudram 馃挭馃徏 14th Oct is going to be Hugeeee 馃敟," he shared on his social media handle, posing with a confident smile at the dubbing studio. The actor talking about the film at the trailer launch event had said, "Ajay Bhupathi didn't give me any chance to say no to the film. I said a yes within the first narration, which is a rarety. There are no heroes or heroines in this film. Every character has a voice and a unique perspective. There are nine characters around which the entire story will undold."
The film is crucial for Sharwanand more than anyone in its team. The actor has had a spate of flops like Sreekaaram, Jaanu, Padi Padi Leche Manasu and Rana Rangam recently and he would really hope for Maha Samudram to swing the tide in his favour. The gangster drama is as significant for Siddharth, who makes a comeback to Telugu cinema after 8 years. His last direct Telugu film was Something Something, a romantic comedy directed by C Sundar, where he shared screen space with Hansika and Brahmanandam. Maha Samudram also marks the second collaboration of director Ajay Bhupathi and Chaitan Bharadwaj after RX100.
