Sivakarthikeyan to play 17-year-old in Cibi Chakravarthi's Don?

It is well known that Sivakarthikeyan will be next seen in the college drama, titled Don, which is slated to release on May 13. The promotion for Don has been going on in full swing, and the makers launched the third single track recently. Now, the latest buzz is that Sivakarthikeyan will be seen as a teenager (17-year-old) in the film. The actor himself has revealed this information in his latest interview with a YouTube channel.

Directed by Cibi Chakravarthi, a former assistant to Atlee, Don will see Priyanka Mohan pairing up with Sivakarthikeyan once again, and this marks the duo's second collaboration, after Doctor.

Jointly produced by the actor's home banner Sivakarthikeyan Productions and Lyca Productions, Don will mark the return of Sivakarthikeyan to his tried and tested comedy-drama genre.

"Don will be a wholesome entertainer with humour and romance. The story revolves around the life of a mischievous college student who is loved by everyone. Sivakarthikeyan plays this student and his character will be an extension of his real-life fun persona. I narrated this script to him about one and a half years ago. He was also looking for a college-based script at the time and so, things fell into place," Cibi Chakravarthi had told Cinema Express.

Don will have music by Anirudh Ravichandar, who has previously collaborated with Sivakarthikeyan on films like Ethir Neechal, Maan Karate, and Remo.

SJ Suryah, who was seen playing a negative role in Simbu's Maanaadu will be playing the role of a professor in Don. It was already reported that Sivakarthikeyan’s role as a student leader will be locking horns with SJ Suryah’s role as a professor named Bhoominathan.

Cibi Chakravarthi, in an interview with a media house, stated that he had first met SJ Suryah while Atlee was filming for Mersal.

Don also features Samuthirakani, Soori, Bala Saravanan, Munishkanth, Kaali Venkat, and Cooku with Comali fame Sivaangi.

Sivakarthikeyan had also confirmed that his long-pending science-fiction drama Ayalaan will be released by the end of 2022, or early 2023. Touted to be a sci-fi film about an alien and made on a huge budget, Ayalaan has music by AR Rahman. Directed by Ravikumar (of Indru Netru Naalai fame), the film has Rakul Preet Singh and Isha Koppikar in pivotal roles.
