Despite Marvel's history of resurrecting characters, Feige states that the team worked diligently for years to reach that poignant moment and has no intention of undermining Stark's sacrifice for box office gains. Robert Downey Jr.'s portrayal of Iron Man concluded in 2019's Avengers: Endgame after starring in 10 films, marking a pinnacle in film franchise history. Feige assures fans that they are committed to keeping that moment untouched, respecting the emotional investment of both the cast and audience.

Penned by Mike Makowsky, the film, led by Frank Rich, known for HBO's Veep and Succession, is described as a forensic and darkly comic examination of the unprecedented congressional race in Long Island that saw Santos elected to Congress. The movie explores the Gatsby-esque journey of a man who exploited the system, waged war on truth, and swindled one of the wealthiest districts in the country to fulfil his American Dream.
