It's been two and a half years since a film of Suriya has hit the screens. KV Anand's Kaappaan (streaming on Amazon Prime Video) was his last theatrical release. At the pre-release event of Etharkkum Thunindhavan, the actor spoke in detail about how he missed the experience and watching his movie along with an exciting crowd.

He also took time to talk about the sufferings people are undergoing currently in Ukraine because of the ongoing conflict with Russia. He asked everyone at the event to observe silence for a few seconds as a mark of respect to the people in the country who have been going through a tough time.

Suriya also hoped that everyone in Ukraine, including Indians who are stranded there, will be able to go back to their normal lives soon. All praise for Sathyaraj for being an inspiration in different ways, the actor said the senior actor has taught him several things with his acting career.

He said, "If you are ready to sacrifice a lot of things in life, you can earn endless benefits. Sathyaraj mama is a prime example for that. While playing villain roles, he chose to take a different path and started playing roles. Later, he decided to leave that comfort zone as well, and he was fortunate to play characters like Baahubali."

Suriya also went gaga over Sathyaraj's tryst with fitness. He said that the manner in which the latter indulges in push-ups makes anyone become conscious of maintaining a great fitness level.

The Jai Bhim star was all praise for Vinay Rai as well. He reminisced about working out while playing popular songs from the latter's film Unnale Unnale and appreciated him for his decision to take up villain roles despite being a hero for many years.
