Taapsee Pannu is one of the versatile Indian actresses, who has worked and impressed fans in different film industries such as Tamil, Telugu, and Hindi. She is currently swamped with various promotional events for her upcoming thriller sequel, Phir Aayi Hasseen Dillruba. The multi-faceted star recently talked about the challenges in the glamour industry, where making connections is directly linked to big parties. Taapsee also shared the reasons why she struggled to land major production deals.

Taapsee Pannu reveals the truth of Bollywood’s glam life

Taapsee Pannu is renowned for her unique roles and blunt personality. Recently, the 36-year-old star opened up about the challenges she faced in Bollywood due to her personal choices. In an interview, Taapsee shared how she found it difficult to be a part of the inner A-list circle in the show business as she usually prefers to avoid late-night parties. This is one of the reasons why she couldn’t land any major production deals easily but had to choose the hard way.

The Chashme Baddoor actress also dropped truth bombs on Bollywood camps and shared insights about nepotism and how it helps in getting access to the inner circles. Although she confessed that she would rather choose the difficult way of doing films than the easier way of parties and camps.

Reality of Bollywood camps and nepotism

“Bollywood camps are there. The nepotism debate that we talk about is the problem of getting access. If a big-budget film is being made, I am sure nobody would disrespect me by saying I am not fit for the role, but I might not get the part because my name will not be brought up as other actors who are part of camps would be recommended for the part. The harsh reality is that big films are about access, and I don’t have that access to make it into that room,” Taapsee told Zoom.

Later, the Haseen Dillruba star also pointed out that the late-night parties are key to getting access to the camps, as socialisation helps in making connections and landing roles. However, she avoids attending such events as she finds these to be “draining.”
