Team Adhigaaram releases pictures of Vetri Maaran and Lawrence before the crew begins shooting

It was announced earlier that Lawrence will play the lead in Adhigaaram which will be directed by Durai Senthilkumar of Kodi fame. Acclaimed filmmaker Vetri Maaran has written the script for the movie which will be bankrolled by Five Star Kathiresan. The team is all set to begin the shooting soon.

They have now released a couple of stills featuring Lawrence, Vetri Maaran, Kathiresan and Durai. The first look of the project was unveiled last year along with the update that Vetri is also a co-producer under his banner Grass Root Film Company. Interestingly, Vetri was the co-producer of Durai's previous outing Pataas (streaming on Amazon Prime Video).

Adhigaaram marks Lawrence's collaboration with Kathiresan after Rudhran which is yet to be released. The movie, though was announced as a theatrical release on April 14 much earlier, an update is awaited on its arrival in theatres. The film, which has Priya Bhavani Shankar playing the female lead, is the directorial debut of Kathiresan.

It's been more than three years since a movie of Lawrence has hit the screens. Last seen in Kanchana 3, he had hit the headlines when his directorial project Laxmii released on Disney+ Hotstar in 2020. He currently has Durga and Chandramukhi 2 in his kitty.  

Meanwhile, Vetri is now gearing up for the final schedule of Viduthalai which stars Soori in the lead. He will officially commence Suriya-starrer Vaadi Vaasal's shooting after the completion of the Soori-starrer which is based on writer Jayamohan's novel Thunaivan. 

A mock shooting of the latter was held in the outskirts of Chennai a month ago. Soori and Ameer among others will portray important characters in the movie which is expected to release in 2023.
