The makers of Karthik Subbaraj's Mahaan had officially announced recently that the movie will have a direct-to-OTT release on Amazon Prime Video on February 10. Vikram and Dhruv Vikram play gangsters in the film which has been bankrolled by Lalit Kumar under Seven Screen Studio.
The team had revealed a few stills of Vikram and Dhruv, who play father-son duo in the film, earlier. Now, they have unveiled Simha's character poster from the gangster flick. The versatile actor essays the role of Sathyavan, an ageing, but menacing gangster. The poster has the actor sitting on a chair, sporting a goggles, and a pile of money is seen stashed behind the chair.
Simha has been a regular artist in Karthik's films. The former was seen in notable roles in the latter's Pizza (streaming on Jio Cinema and MX Player), Jigarthanda (streaming on Disney+ Hotstar), Iraivi (streaming on YouTube), Petta (streaming on Netflix), Putham Pudhu Kaalai (streaming on Amazon Prime Video) and Navarasa (streaming on Netflix).
The actor went on to bag National Award for Best Supporting Actor in Jigarthanda in 2014. Movie buffs are eagerly waiting to know what role does the young actor has to essay this time under Karthik's direction.
Mahaan has Simran and Vani Bhojan among others, too, playing pivotal roles in it. It is expected that the character posters of all the prominent actors in the film will be unveiled soon. Santhosh Narayanan has composed music for the movie which has cinematography and editing by Shreyaas Krishna and Vivek Harshan respectively.
Anirudh Ravichander, who teamed up with Karthik for Petta, was supposed to come on board as the composer for the project, but he was later replaced by Santhosh, who has collaborated with the director for most number of times.
