Fans of Superstar Rajinikanth, who were quite eagerly waiting for the commencement of Jailer, were elated after makers announced officially that the film went on floors on Monday. According to sources, the star has joined the shooting which is currently happening in the outskirts of Chennai.

Nelson Dilipkumar is directing the movie which marks his fourth directorial project after Kolamavu Kokila, Doctor and Beast. Anirudh Ravichander, who has composed music for all the three films, has been brought on board this time, too. Leading production house Sun Pictures is bankrolling the film.

Now, the hashtag #Thalaivar 170 has started trending on Twitter as speculation is doing the rounds with regard to Superstar's next project. Earlier, there were reports of Arunraja Kamaraj helming the project and Boney Kapoor producing it. The latter, however, quashed it as a rumour.

The latest news is that Cibi Chakaravarthi of Don fame is in talks for Thalaivar 170 (tentative title). Fans of Rajinikanth have been sharing the picture of the two of them posing for a photo on social media and expressing curiousity on the credibility of the speculation.

Desingh Periyasamy of Kannum Kannum Kollaiyadithaal fame was supposed to do a project with Rajinikanth under the production of AGS Entertainment, but the project did not materialize due to reasons best known to them. Desingh later revealed that he is waiting for an opportunity and that he is hopeful of landing an offer soon.

Meanwhile, Don directed by Cibi which was released in May, marked his directorial debut. The Sivakarthikeyan-starrer went on to become the star's highest grossing film. The fun-filled campus drama was lapped up by youngsters and family audiences, thanks to a plethora of entertaining elements in it.
