When Paula Hawkins’ The Girl On The Train came out, one could have imagined that it would make for a great thriller on screen as well, but probably had not foreseen the fact that it would be adapted in many languages as well. Now, the Hindi adaptation of the film with the same title and with Parineeti Chopra in the lead is all set to release next week. And ahead of it, director Ribhu Dasgupta just cannot heap enough praises for Parineeti.

Talking to Mid Day, Ribhu revealed that the best part about casting Parineeti was the fact that no one could actually imagine her in the role of Meera Chopra and that she was not the obvious choice for this film. He said, “I love that Parineeti is not the obvious choice for this film; that’s the biggest [incentive] for me. If you know a specific actor is terrific at her work and that she has not played such a role before, you can be assured that the moment you throw this challenge to her, she will take it up. She is the kind of artiste who will leave behind all the work she has done before, and find a new [interpretation] to her part.”

This would be the first time Parineeti would be seen in an intense role and in a thriller. She has mostly worked as a bubbly girl in romantic films, The Girl In The Train is all set to release on the 26th of February on Netflix.
