The makers of the upcoming film Trigger, starring Atharvaa Murali, released a teaser on social media. It focuses on the kidnapping of 20 children and how the police attempt to solve the crime. The teaser shows snippets of the film's fast-paced action sequences as well as Atharvaa's role.

The action thriller is directed by filmmaker Sam Anton, who has previously collaborated with Atharvaa on 100 (2019). The father-son relationship is central to Trigger. The father role is played by veteran actor Arun Pandian. Tanya, Krishna Kumar, Vinodhini Vaidyanathan Munishkanth, Aranthangi Nisha, Chinni Jayanth, and Anbudasan, among others, play pivotal roles in the film, produced by Prateek Chakravorty and Shruti Nallappa of Pramod Films.

Trigger, which is expected to have a theatrical release in September, has Ghibran on music, Krishnan Vasant on cinematography and Ruben on editing.

Atharvaa, whose most recent release was Kuruthi Aattam, has had his share of box office highs and lows, but he remains unfazed, not tempted to feel guilty about his choices. "There have been times when I felt certain things could have been handled differently, but I have no regrets, including starting my own production company. The path may be difficult, but I'm confident that it will soon improve," the actor said, in an interview with an English daily.

In addition, the actor spoke about how the pandemic, in some ways, accelerated changes in the industry. "Cinema is evolving quickly, which has made filmmakers even more receptive. There has been a noticeable shift in their approaches. The days of one person attempting to do everything are long gone. Now, it feels more like a collaborative effort, with everyone allowed to make suggestions. This is beneficial to performers."

Atharvaa also has Karthick Naren's Nirangal Moondru, up for release. "Karthick's film cannot be classified as a genre. It's a unique project that is unlike anything else on the market. He has a beautiful mind that envisions ideas that others cannot. It would be fantastic if he could translate it on screen. I'm very pleased with how things are progressing," he added.

Throughout his 12-year stop-start career, Atharvaa has clung to one piece of advice given to him by his late father, actor Murali. "He warned me not to watch his films for references and encouraged me to do what I thought was right. I'm not sure why he told me that, but I find it extremely useful," the actor concluded.
