Trolls Band Together OTT release date in India: When and where to watch Justin Timberlake and Anna Kendrick's animated sequel online

With the announcement that the animated sequel would be available to stream on March 17, JioCinema is bringing the joy of Trolls Band Together home. In their ongoing quest to uncover their origins, Poppy (Anna Kendrick) and Branch (Justin Timberlake) just embarked on an exciting journey through uncharted territories. The third edition of the franchise brought surprises for Poppy and Branch that they weren't prepared for.

Poppy and Branch's new adventure

What happens in Trolls Band Together occurs after the events of Trolls World Tour, when Queen Barb (Rachel Bloom) attempted to lead the Hard Rock Trolls to conquer every musical realm in the world. Branch and Poppy are the main characters that pursue them. Branch's older brother, John Dory, played by Eric André, pays him a visit; John was the former head of BroZone. This comes at a time when the franchise's protagonists are trying to focus on their relationship. John informs Branch that Veneer (Andrew Rannells) and Velvet (Amy Schumer) have abducted Floyd (Troye Sivan). Because they can't afford to waste any more time, the gang sets off on a mission to rescue Branch's brother.

Vision for the franchise

Trolls Band Together was directed by Walt Dohrn and debuted in theatres over three years after its predecessor. Having co-directed and then directed the first two films in the Trolls trilogy, Dohrn has experience with all three instalments. Notable for his modest voice performances in The Boss Baby and Penguins of Madagascar, he is also well-known. After discovering that Poppy and Branch both had long-lost siblings, the filmmaker was ready to elevate the series. This revelation provided fresh significance to their adventures.

Since DreamWorks Animation has not yet confirmed a sequel to Trolls Band Together, Branch and Puppy's journey will have to wait for some time. The Wild Robot and Dog Man are DreamWorks Animation's upcoming projects; whether or not the studio decides to create other sequels to their past properties is anyone's guess.
